Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about scheduling, billing, and how lessons run. Full policies are in the Terms of service and Privacy.

What timezone are bookings in?

Scheduling uses Calendly; times are communicated in US Central Time (America/Chicago). The booking section on the contact page calls this out — please confirm Calendly shows the timezone you expect when you pick a slot.

How do payments work?

All lessons are prepaid. Before each scheduled lesson, payment is expected via PayPal, Stripe, or Zelle (you can use whichever you prefer). Ten-lesson packs are prepaid as a block with a 10% discount ($450 for ten one-hour lessons at the standard $50 rate).

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel with less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson start, the full lesson fee still applies. No-shows are charged the full lesson fee. For how start time is shown, see the timezone answer above and your booking confirmation. Full rules: Terms of service.

Are sessions recorded?

Sessions are not recorded by the tutor. Students must not record sessions (audio, video, or screen).

How do lessons take place?

Lessons are one-on-one online sessions. You need a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and a quiet space. Join details are shared after booking.

How does the referral offer work?

If someone you refer purchases a prepaid block of ten lessons, you receive one free one-hour lesson after we confirm the purchase and referral (include “Referred by” on the contact form).

Do you tutor subjects beyond the list on the site?

Yes — My Tutor Tech focuses on technology and coding broadly. If you do not see your topic, use the contact form and we will discuss fit.
